So sad to hear about this experience, Bob, and good on you for raising the issue. Younger collectors might be hard to come by, but they’re out there. For any club to survive, the first step is to believe that young collectors even exist. It sounds like this club’s attitudes doom it to oblivion.

Hey Bob, sorry you had that experience. As someone who got my daughter interested in stamps when she was 12, I’ve sensed a real bi-furcation between collectors who welcome and encourage participation and those who seem to be stuck in the past.
Too bad because there is a knowledge gap that occurs and the hobby suffers unless it’s constantly evolving and open to the new.
